Gerhard Richter presented his new monumental work of art – a complex of three stained-glass windows in the Gothic cathedral of the monastery in the city of Tolay (Germany). The creation of the stained glass windows was paid in full by the monastery’s private donor. The plot of the compositions is taken from the series of paintings by Richter “Patterns” of the 1990s. The abbey is considered the oldest complex in Germany – its foundation dates back to 634 A.D. The new work of art is expected to attract significant tourist flow to the small town.

An unprecedented event is planned for the October auction at Christie’s – for the first time in the world auction practice, the lot will be a work of “mixed media” – a performance by Marina Abramovich “Life” recorded on video and reproduced using virtual reality. It previously exhibited at a gallery in the United States as a temporary exhibition in 2019. The performance will be on sale on October 22 as part of the post-war and contemporary art evening auction.

Sotheby’s will auction a single lot on October 5 in Hong Kong, a unique 102.39-carat oval-cut diamond in the D Flawless color. Only seven diamonds over 100 carats were previously put up for auction. In addition, for the first time in the history of trading, a stone with similar characteristics will be exhibited without a reserve, that is, a preliminary agreement with a potential buyer. The organizer of the auction, the head of Sotheby`s Diamonds and Sotheby`s Asia, Patti Wong, expects to whet the public interest and expand the circle of clients, being absolutely sure that the diamond will make a splash at the auction and set a new price record.
